This problem is mainly due to location settings in the TV. I assume this problem is faced if the location is set to USA. If you are in any other location please change it to your country and it should work fine. I followed an alternative step which i think would be helpful. Move forward till smart Hub terms and Conditions policy page. You get a tab with different countries. Proceed till last step. Access smart hub and it should work.

If your set up is like mine and every wire and plug is a hassle to get to, simply hold down the power button on the remote. The screen will turn off, but keep holding down. The tv then basically "resets", but does not lose it's previous settings. The app downloaded fine after that. Hope this helps someone. This is frustrating. Any suggestions?
